Bought Football Manager 2013 via Steam

This version of Football Manager is the best so far since visual gameplay was introduced to the series. The game has challenges that keep you playing and the new Football Manager Classic mode is quick and less complicated. Not that the normal mode was ever complicated however it did always consume a lot of time when a player wanted to start and get through a season in a few days.

Many game players did not have much time to complete one season in a week. I am currently playing with Leeds United in the normal mode and I’ve only got to February 2013 despite playing 3 days straight. There is so much you have to do to have a very good team, for example regular one and one talks with players, back room advice and other managerial responsibilities such as training.

I do want to keep playing with the Leeds United game that I’ve invested so much of time in but I feel as if any accomplishments would be seen as cheating. I had edited the database before starting the game and added a player after my name as a striker and I think many of the true loyal players will see that as cheating. I’ve been playing since Championship Manager 3 and I think I would only feel the satisfaction of achieving promotion and then winning the Barclays Premier League title without any pre-game editing.

That is the only way to ensure that you are seen as a good manager on Football Manager. The perception is that anyone can win competitions in-game if you have edited the game before hand and given yourself a large sum of money and top players.

My goal from this post and further posts is to show my progress as a manager of a lower league team. I will be trying to get the team to the top division and becoming the number one team in the world. It will take time but this is a target that is challenging and will feel amazing to achieve. There is no satisfaction than seeing your team be successful.
