Football Manager 2013: Leeds United 2015 Gone Corrupt

My Leeds United FMC career has totally went corrupt and won’t load. Has the XML error or whatever it’s called again. Finally when I achieved the European Cup and entered the hall of fame my game goes corrupt. It always happens to me with Football Manager saved games. Even in the past it has done the same.

My saved games never go more than 5 seasons until all my hard work is just erased somehow. Stupid steam. I had closed the game after saving and not in between. Then I closed steam after it finished syncing to the club, computer shut down later.

Have to start all over again with a new team. Very disappointing!

Football Manager 2013: Leeds United in Barclays Premier League 2015

With Leeds United I won the domestic title and the FA Cup. The team is sitting in first place but only because of goal difference. Manchester City has equal points and I could lose the title. Currently in February 2015 with Leeds United. Falcao has been amazing as usual, Benzema is a let down as he doesn’t score often but he holds up the ball well in front. Many other players like the wingers score many goals as well, Neymar and Hazard are reliable wingers.

Yes, it doesn’t sound realistic to have so many good players in a team like Leeds United but this is a good scenario I set up. Interesting to find out what heights Leeds United can reach with the very best players. Not every player is 4-5 star because every player can’t be contracted as a Key Player. Many of the players will develop and become top players soon.

Below are screenshots of my progress with Leeds United in 2015.

Football Manager 2013: Leeds United in Barclays Premier League 2014

I got Leeds United promoted in 2013 and I now sit in 2nd place with the season coming close to an end. The top of the table is very tight and any slip up from any team could cause the title for them, including Leeds United.

Below are the screenshots of Leeds United and the table currently. My defense has not been great even though I have World Class football players. I have conceded a lot of goals and the great goalkeeper Iker Casillas has not been great this season. I’ve had to rotate the squad because some of the key players were in bad form.

Young Team Scenario

I have planned to create a custom scenario from editing the database and choosing a lower league team. This team has been recently purchased by a rich successful person and with the resources several young players have been bought. These players are the future of the club and are expected to ensure several promotions through the lower leagues and be competent in the premier league when they are finally mature.

Below are some screenshots of what the team looks like at the beginning of this scenario that I have created myself. These players may seem the best but they have not reached their potential and have very low attributes.

This screenshot below should help indicate that even with the mass amount of talent I have available I still have no advantage and the teams overall rating seems fair with the league. The players will become great but at the moment they are only competent in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Not playing this scenario anymore as it had many problems. I will blog a new post regarding the new scenario which has been a success so far and a better experience.

Football Manager 2012 – The Road to Barclays Premier League

I have been a fan of football management games on PC since Championship Manager 3. Since Football Manager started its series of football management I have been playing them each year. I am very experienced as I have adapted to the new features of each installment. Big teams such as Manchester United and Barcelona are teams I pick to manage in the first few weeks when I buy a new game but after a number of weeks you feel like taking on a low division team.

Other people I know have asked me why I choose to manage a low division team when they don’t have any big name players or the finance to win major trophies straight away. However it is very rewarding when you manage a team from npower League 2 and help them reach the Coca Cola Championship or Barclays Premier League. It may not be in the space of 5 years in the game but you build the club and make it a success over time.

I started a new game this week with Shrewsbury Town in the npower League 2 who are predicted to finish in 11th position. I have made some transfer deals to help the club achieve a higher position. Below is a list of players I brought in:

Loaned

Krisztian Adorjan from Liverpool

Elliot Parish from Aston Villa

Lawson D’Ath from Reading

Jon Williams from Crystal Palace

Free Transfers

Dean Bouzanis

Pablo Counago

My top player will be Pablo Counago as he has high attributes and is the best striker I have. It is hard to say what will happen because the season has only started.

Below are some screenshots of my squad list and the formation I use. I will try to post an update every season with information and screenshots. Hopefully I can get this team to the top.
